Intro & Guidelines:
We are pleased to announce that a recreational basketball league (much like that of our previous “KAMA Church League”) will be taking place this year at the Old High School Gym! It will have the same spirit as our beloved KAMA Church League that no longer meets due to scheduling and other concerns.
The mission of K.A.R.L. is to provide a safe activity for the youth of our community. We require participants and coaches to uphold a level of sportsmanship that includes:
-
Appropriate language
-
Team work (all players get game time)
-
Lack of negativity (such as taunting or “booing”)
Players must not be playing for the public school teams. This is to ensure that both leagues of players can be at their best!

If you played last year:
-
You need to play for the same team. If you're moving up a league and the church you played for previously has a team in the next league up, you must play for them.
-
If your church did not have a team last year, but has one this year, you may (but don't have to) switch to your church's team.
-
Possible exceptions made for siblings. Must talk to league director, Joel Whitlock, for approval.

If your team from last year no longer exists:
-
If you've been in communication with a coach from another team, you may play for them.
-
If not, mark "I need a team," and we'll place you on a team.

If you didn't play last year:
-
You can select your church or "I need a team," and we'll hook you up with a team.
Coaches will gather their own team and form their own practice schedules. We will be communicating to the teams through their coaches.
We're looking to improve the league over time and may make changes as needed, but for now we want to get things going for the kids as soon as possible!
Our goal and mission is to have friendly and encouraging competition for our kids to have fun and grow in character. Most people are aware of the shortcomings of fans, coaches, players, and volunteers in the past. We commit to upholding a higher standard, and we appreciate your help and understanding in doing so. We look forward to a great year!
